Are you nurturing your heart or your ego?
I was walking up my street today and saw a black and white bumper sticker on a telephone pole that said, “Kill your ego. Awaken your heart.” Murder? It seems a little harsh.
But what if you used the energy you’ve been feeding your ego to nurture your heart instead and as a result, your ego deflates? Your heart is more vibrant, alive and strong and your life is expanding.
I once heard a Native American story about a young man who said, “Grandfather, there are two wolves fighting in my head. How do I know which one will win?” The grandfather answered, “The one you feed.”
Currently in our world, this battle is taking place in many of us. Shadow aspects of humanity are showing up in the news daily. Many people have been stripped of the identity they’ve lived with, often for years and years, due to the loss of a job and in some cases loss of relationships, homes, communities and more. What is left when these things are gone? If the person believes they are these things, they may experience a breakdown. If the person opens up to their spirit and Spirit/God/Universe/Goddess, is patient and looks for a way to use the big pile of crap handed to them as fertilizer for something new in their life, the breakdown will turn into a breakthrough.
With the ego or identity ‘dead,’ there is an opportunity to operate from a different place. From an energy and way of being that is more sustainable, joyful, unconditional and simply beautiful.
Are you nurturing your true desires? What is your deepest heart’s longing? What crap (ego remnants?) do you have in your life that you can use to fertilize your vision?
